Privacy Policy
Boba Tech Summit runs a members-only directory for the founders and investors attending the event. Being listed is how members find each other, so being clear about what other people can see — and what only we can see — matters. This policy explains it.
Information we collect
Everything here comes from the application form you fill in, plus notes we add while reviewing it:
- Who you are:your email, name, and whether you're applying as a founder or an investor.
- How people can reach you: LinkedIn, LINE ID, other social profiles, and your website.
- What you're working on: founders tell us about their company, sector, stage, traction and what they're raising; investors tell us about their fund, cheque size, stages, sectors and focus regions.
- Your application: an invite code and referrer if you have them.
- Our review notes:whether your application is accepted, an internal rating, and which ticket you're granted. Only the organiser sees these.
How we use it
We use your information to review your application, to list you in the directory and suggest relevant people to meet, and to email you about the event — your login link and your invitation. That's all. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Only members whose applications we've accepted can open the directory, and they see the profile described above — how to reach you and what you're working on. Your email address is never shown, and neither are our review notes: your status, your rating, and your ticket tier stay with the organiser.
Outside the directory, we share your information with the companies that help us run the event — hosting, database, and email delivery providers — and only so they can provide those services to us. We also use Luma for event invitations and check-in, so the email and name you RSVP with are handled there.
Your choices
Appearing in the directory is your choice, and you can change your mind at any time. Email us and we'll remove your profile — it disappears from the directory immediately. You can also ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, or delete it entirely; say so in the same message and we'll take care of it. Withdrawing your consent doesn't undo anything we lawfully did with your data beforehand.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to run the event and its directory. After that — or as soon as you ask us to — we delete it: your registration and directory records go, and our record that an email was sent to you is kept only in a scrambled form we can't read back. If the law requires us to keep something, or we need it to resolve a dispute, we keep only that, and only for as long as we have to.
Security
We protect your information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity: sign-in is by a single-use link rather than a password, and the directory is closed to anyone who isn't an accepted member. That said, no system on the internet is ever completely secure, and we can't promise otherwise.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your language. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
This is a professional event, and the directory isn't meant for children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 — if you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update this page. For anything privacy-related, including the rights described above, contact us:
